MASJID AL-ABIDIN: RE-OPENING GUIDELINES
Given that we are operating under unusual circumstances and new norms, Masjid Al-Abidin continue to implore and advise our congregation to continue adhere to COVID-19 safety regulations from Federal, State and Health agencies. The health risks are still very much looming in our midst and therefore we strongly advise everyone to be vigilant and take all necessary and common sense precautions.
Beginning October 1st 2020 Masjid Al-Abidin will be opened ONLY for Salaatul Maghrib DAILY and
Salaatul Jumu'ah will commence weekly from October 2nd 2020.
There will be a strict ZERO tolerance policy regarding adherence to our operating procedures outlined below.
OPERATING PROCEDURES
1. You must wear a mask that properly covers your nose and mouth PRIOR to entering the premises
2. Please make WUDU at home. There will be limited or NO WUDU facility at the Masjid. Bathroom access will be limited to emergencies.
3. Bring your own prayer rug
4. Bring plastic bag and keep your shoes with you
5. No handshaking | No hugging | No socializing
6. Must abide by social distancing guidelines at all times
7. If you have symptoms of illness, fever, cough, body aches, difficulty breathing, unexplained loss of taste or smell, diarrhea and headache please STAY HOME ( seek medical advice and care immediately)
8. On arrival, congregants will be directed to enter via a dedicated entrance and depart swiftly via assigned exit.
9. You MUST adhere to the instructions of the volunteers at all times
NOTE: This above list does NOT represent an exhaustive set of guidelines. The pandemic remains fluid and policies can change/update as necessary by our volunteers based on advise of the Executive Board as dictated by Federal, State and Health agencies guidelines.

Masjid Al-Abidin has taken extraordinary health and safety measures to ensure that you, your family members, and other guests can worship at the Masjid. You must follow all instructions while utilizing the facilities at Masjid Al-Abidin.
COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 that exists in public places, such as Masjid Al-Abidin, where people are present and congregate. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), worshipers over 65 years of age and those who have underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting Masjid Al-Abidin facilities, you are knowingly and voluntarily assuming all the risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus / COVID-19
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, governmental authorities recommend social distancing, among other measures. Guyana Caribbean Islamic Movement Inc. aka Masjid Al-Abidin 104-14 127th St #3008, Queens, NY 11419 , has put in place certain basic preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, neither these measures nor the Masjid generally can guarantee that you will not become infected with COVID-19. Attending the Masjid could increase your risk of contracting and subsequently spreading COVID-19. Because the Masjid is open for use by other individuals, you may be at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 while on its premises.
By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the statements above and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending the Masjid – including by participating in ANY individual or congregational Salaat (prayers); participating in any other Ibadaat (rituals)or programs, or otherwise using the facilities and premises in any manner.
While I am on the Masjid premises, I agree to comply fully with the COVID-19 guidelines recommended by federal, state, and local authorities, including Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines. I agree to maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet at all times from any other individual on the Masjid premises. I further acknowledge and voluntarily assume the risk that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Masjid may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Masjid board members, officers, agents, servants, independent contractors, affiliates, employees, successors, volunteers, and other participants in attendance at the Masjid.
I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, expense, judgment, or cause of action of any kind, that I or anyone that I subsequently come into contact with, may experience or incur in connection with my attendance at the Masjid or participation in the Masjid’s programming (“Claims”). I, for myself and on behalf of my family, spouse, estate, heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, and personal representatives, hereby forever release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, and covenant not to sue the Masjid, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, expenses, causes of action of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.
I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the Masjid, board members, officers, agents, servants, independent contractors, affiliates, employees, successors, volunteers, and other participants in attendance at the Masjid, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Masjid program. By signing below I acknowledge and represent that I have read the foregoing waiver of liability and assumption of risk, understand it and sign it voluntarily as my own free act and deed, including without limitation the release of liability and indemnification requirements contained in this document. I am sufficiently informed about the risks involved in using the Masjid to decide whether to sign this document; no oral representations, statements, or inducements, apart from the foregoing written agreement, have been made; I am at least eighteen (18) years of age and fully competent; and I execute this document for full, adequate, and complete consideration fully intending to be bound by the same. If any of the provisions hereof are found to be unenforceable, the remainder shall be enforced as fully as possible and the unenforceable provision(s) shall be deemed modified to the limited extent required to permit enforcement.
